either you’re pro-choice or you’re misinformed. that’s my view. i’m not pro-ABORTION i think abortion is awful and that unwanted pregnancies should be prevented in different ways. expensive surgery is never a fun route.
but making abortions illegal does not lower the number of abortions performed.
it just makes sure that they are only accessable to wealthy women in secret, and to poor women in very dangerous, potentially fatal ways
a pro-life country is not an abortion-free country. it is one where those that cannot afford an illegal procedure could (and very likely will) die from back alley alternatives.
abortion should be safe, legal, and rare. what we need in place is a better sex education system, so that the number of unplanned pregnancies lowers. it shows in tremendous amounts that states with abstinence-only curriculums have a higher rate of teen pregnancies. kids don’t understand how to manage their own bodies in a safe way, resulting in children they are not prepared for, resulting in more abortions being carried out. if you’re anti-abortion, you should be concerned with better sex education.
Also for real this time— Tammy Baldwin the projected winner.
Three things you should know:
1. As an out lesbian, she will be the first-ever LGBT member of the Senate. 2. But her support of LGBT issues isn’t in name only. She’s pushed for the repeal of DOMA, Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, and she was the author of the Domestic Partnership Benefits and Obligations Act of 2011 3. She is a strong advocate for environmental sustainability
